ADMISSION PROCEDURE RULES

  1. General Conditions for Admission:

 A student seeking admission to any class in a 'School' will be eligible for admission to that Class only if s/he:

 has been studying in a school affiliated to CBSE or any other recognized Board of Secondary Education in India.

 has passed qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination making him eligible for admission to that Class; satisfies the requirements of age limits (minimum and maximum) as determined by the State/U.T. Government and applicable to the place where the school is located.

 produces the School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended and document(s) in support of his having passed the qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination.

  1. Specific Requirements for Admission of Students to a CBSE Affiliated School:

 Admissions from pre-primary up to Class VIII (i.e. Class VIII and below) is regulated by the rules, regulations, orders of the State/U .T. Governments applicable to the place where the School is located.

 Admission to Class IX in a school is open only to such a student who has passed class VIII examination from an institution affiliated to CBSE or to any recognized Board that is recognized by the Education Department of the Government of the State/U. T. in which such an institution is located.

  1. Admission in Class X can be given to a student who:
  2. has completed a regular course of study for Class IX from an institution affiliated to CBSE.
  3. has completed a regular course of study for Class IX and has obtained minimum qualifying marks i.e. 33% from an Institution affiliated to any recognized Board recognized by the Education Department of the Government of the State/ U. T. in which such an institution is located.
  4. The Chairman, CBSE shall have the powers to allow change of school for better academic performance, medical reasons etc. to avoid undue hardship to the candidate(s). In case of all such admissions, the schools would obtain post facto approval of the Board within one month of admission of the student.

 

  1. Admission in Class XI and XII can be given to a student who:

 Admission to Class XI in a school is open to such a student who: (a) has obtained minimum 33% marks at the Secondary School (Class X) examination conducted by CBSE, (b) has passed an equivalent examination conducted by any other recognized Board of Secondary Education/Indian University and recognized by CBSE as equivalent to its secondary school examination.

  1. Admission to Class XII in a school is open only to such a student who:
  2. a) has completed a regular course of study for Class XI and has passed class XI examination from an institution affiliated to CBSE.
  3. b) has completed a regular course of study for class XI and has passed class XI examination from an institution recognized by/affiliated to any recognized Board in India can be admitted to a school affiliated to this Board only on the transfer of the parent(s) or shifting of their families from one place to another, after procuring from the student the mark sheet and the Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authorities of the Board concerned.
  4. c) The Chairman, CBSE shall have the powers to allow change of school for better academic performance, medical reasons etc. to avoid undue hardship to the candidate(s). In case of all such admissions, the schools would obtain post facto approval of the Board within one month of admission of the student.
  5. 6. Admissions of Students from Outside India:

 Students passing qualifying examination from an examining body outside India will be required to obtain eligibility certificate. For obtaining eligibility certificate from the Board, the Principal of the School to which admission is being sought will submit to the Board full details of the case and relevant documents with his/her own remarks/recommendations. The eligibility certificate will be issued by the Board after the Board is satisfied that the course of study undergone and examination passed is equivalent to the corresponding class of CBSE. Such students should also satisfy the condition of completing regular course of study for class IX and XI case of admission to Class X and Class XII respectively.

  1. Subject Change: Provisions for change of subject are given as under:

(i) Change of subject(s) in class XI may be allowed by the Head of the School but not later than 31st of October of that academic session.

 (ii) No candidate shall be permitted to change his subject of study after passing class IX or XI as the case may be.

 (iii) The candidate shall not offer a subject in class X and XII which s/he has not studied and passed in class IX and XI respectively.

 (iv) Not withstanding anything contained in (ii) and (iii) above CBSE shall have the powers to allow a change in subject(s) in class X/XII, as the case may be, to avoid undue hardship to the candidate provided such a request for change is made before 15th July.

  1. Name/ Date of Birth Correction:
  2. Name Change: Applications regarding changes in name or surname of candidates will be considered provided the changes have been admitted by the Court of law and notified in the Government Gazette before the publication of the result of the candidate. In cases of change in documents after the court orders, caption will be mentioned on the document "CHANGE ALLOWED IN NAME/FATHER'S NAME /MOTHER NAME/ GUARDIAN'S NAME FROM _ TO_ ON (DATED) AS PER COURT ORDER No. DATED
  3. Correction in Name: Correction in name to the extent of correction in spelling errors, factual typographical errors in the Candidate's name/ Surname, Father's name / Mother's name or Guardian's name to make it consistent with what is given in the school record or list of candidates (LOC) submitted by the school is made.

  Application for correction in name of Candidate/Father's/Mother's/ Guardian's name is considered only within five years of the date of declaration of result provided the application of the candidate is forwarded by the Head of Institution with the following attested documents: True Copy of Admission form(s) filled in by the parents at the time of admission duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.

 True Copy of the School Leaving Certificates of the previous school submitted by the parents of the candidate at the time of admission duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.

True Copy of the portion of the page of admission and withdrawal register of the school where the entry has been made in respect of the candidate, duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.

 This rule will be applicable to all cases after Class X/XII 2015 examination onwards.

  1. Date of Birth Change: No change in the date of birth, once recorded in the Board's record, is made. Date of Birth Correction as per the School Records:
  2. Corrections to correct typographical and other errors to make the certificate consistent with the school records can be made provided that corrections in the school records should not have been made after the submission of the application form for admission to Examination to the Board.
  3. Such correction in Date of Birth of a candidate in case of genuine clerical errors will be made where it is established to the satisfaction of the CBSE that wrong entry was made erroneously in the list of candidates/application form of the candidate for the examination.

 III. Request for correction in Date of Birth shall be forwarded by the Head of the School along with attested Photostat copies of:

  1. application for admission of the candidate to the School;
  2. portion of the page of admission and withdrawal register where entry in date of birth has been made along with attested copy of the Certificate issued by the Municipal Authority, if available, as proof of Date of Birth submitted at the time of seeking admission; and
  3. the School Leaving Certificate of the previous school submitted at the time of admission.
  4. The application for correction in date of birth duly forwarded by the Head of school along with documents mentioned above shall be entertained by the Board only within Five Years of the date of declaration of result. No correction whatsoever shall be made on application submitted after the said period of Five Years.
  5. This rule will be applicable to all cases after Class X 2015 examination onwards.
  6. Date of Birth as per Court Orders: Applications regarding correction in date of birth of candidates will be considered provided the correction has been admitted by the Court of law. In cases of correction in date of birth in documents after the court orders, caption will be mentioned on the document "CORRECTION ALLOWED IN DATE OF BIRTH FROM TO ON (DATED) AS PER COURT ORDER NO. DATED”.
  7. Attendance:

Minimum 75% attendance is required to appear in Board examinations.

 Attendance will be calculated as on 1st January of the Academic session.

Shortage of attendance cases received in the concerned Regional Office upto 7th January of the academic session of Class X or XII will only be considered by the Board. No case will be accepted after 7th January of the academic session of Class X or XII.

  1. 10. In case of Shortage of Attendance:

 Schools shall be required to procure following documents from the student(s)/ parent(s) and submit to the concerned Regional Office of the Board while forwarding the cases for considering condo nation of shortage of attendances:

 

DIRECT ADMISSION IN CLASSES X & XII

  1. The under stated documents are required in direct admission cases and these must be duly attested by the principal of the school.
  2. School Leaving Certificate /Transfer Certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended and duly counter-signed by the concerned Board.
  3. Report Card / Progress Report issued by the Institution last attended.
  4. Document(s) in support of passing the qualifying examination or equivalent qualifying examination.
  5. CBSE Registration Card, duly certified by principal if already registered.
  6. Documentary evidence in support of ground which compels the student to change the school e.g. Transfer Order of Parent(s). Affidavit for shifting of family from one place to another etc.
  7. Admission form filled by the Student / Parents in the school where direct admission is being sought.
  8. Residential proof : Voter ID / Telephone Bill / Electricity Bill / Rent Agreement / etc.
  9. Application request of the student/parent seeking direct admission.
  10. Recommendation of the Head of the Institution.
  11. Duly filled in format (copy enclosed).
  12. 2. Entrance Test will be conducted on the syllabus of previous classes in the subjects Maths, English & Hindi.
  13. 3. The T.C. will be forwarded to the Board, after the countersignature of the Manager / Secretary/Member of the School Management Committee / Principal of this school.
  14. 4. After signature, the school will mention that "verified from cbse.nic.inlsource." The source of verification can be the previous school's website & cbse website. The name of previous school where the child was studying must be in the list of affiliated schools of CBSE and not in the list of disaffiliated schools. The date of verification will also be mentioned by the checker of the school where admission is being sought.
  15. 5. Direct Admission in classes X & XII will not be given to the students seeking admission from within / same city & can be given only to students, coming from another city, on the basis of shifting / transfer of parents.
  16. 6. After clearing the entrance test of school the child needs to submit the above written documents.

Copies of the under - written Certificates admission

  1. Birth Certificate (Photostat) ------ Nur. to Class

  1. Note :

A . (i)Details of students given in T.C./Birth Certificate will be considered final, which will be used by the school in filling of CBSE Registration form (IX & XI) & Board Exam forms (X & XII). There will be no changes made by the school in these records.

 (ii) Changes / correction in students details can be done by CBSE Board as per CBSE Exam Bye Laws No 62 (i) (ii) (iii) & (iv).

(iii) Details of these CBSE Bye Laws No 61 (i) (ii) (iii) & (iv) are printed on page no. 23 of Almanac.

  1. Confirmation of admission of the child, taking admission from CBSE affiliated school, will be done on the following grounds:-

(i) Scanned copy of T.C. of previous school (affiliated to CBSE) is uploaded on the website of previous school and is verified by this institution.

(ii) "AFFILIATED TO THE CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION" must be clearly written on the T.C. produced to the School, below the name and address of the school, alongwith Affiliation code no.

(iii) If the previous school is affiliated with CBSE, Affiliation status of the previous school will be verified by this institution, from Board's website, as well as from the previous school's website, by the steps which are - cbse.nic.in > e affiliation > list of affiliated schools website..

  1. In case of transfer from a school recognized by other than CBSE board (for e.g CG Board / ICSE Board / any other State Board) the genuiness of the T.C. will be ascertained & countersigned from The authority controlling the school ie. from DEO.

  

CBSE BY LAWS / RULES FOR CORRECTION IN NAME & DATE OF BIRTH OF STUDENTS

Exam By Laws No. 69.1

(I) Application regarding changes in name or surname of candidates may be considered, by board provided the changes have been admitted by the Court of law and notified in the Government Gazette before the publication of the result of the candidate.

(ii) Correction in name to the extent of correction in spelling errors, factual typographical errors in the Candidate's name/surname, Father's name / Mother's name or Guardian's name to make it consistent with what is given in the school record list of candidates (LOC) submitted by the school may be made.

 Application for correction in name of Candidate / Father's /Mother's/Guardian's name will be considered within five years of the date of declaration of result provided the application of the candidate is forwarded by the Head of Institution with the following attested documents. It will be applicable to all cases after class X/XII 2015 Examination onwards.

  1. True copy of Admission form (s) filled in by the parents at the time of admission duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.
  2. True copy of the School Leaving Certification of the previous school submitted by the parents of the candidate at the time of admission duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution. c. True copy of the portion of the page of admission and withdrawal register of the school where the entry has been made in respect of the candidate, duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.

(iii) Existing Rule — The candidate duly attested by the Head of the concerned institution.

Exam By Laws No. 69.2

  1. No change in the date of birth once recorded in the Board's records shall be made. However, corrections to correct typographical and other errors to make the certificate consistent with the school records can be made provided that corrections in the school records should not have been made after the submission of application form for admission to Examination to the Board.
  2. Such correction in Date of Birth of a candidate in case of genuine clerical errors will be made under orders of the Chairman of CBSE where it is established to the satisfaction of the Chairman that the wrong entry was made erroneously in the list of Candidates/application form of the candidate for the examination.

iii. Request for correction in Date of Birth shall be forwarded by the Head of the school along with attested Photostat copies of :

  1. Application for admission of the candidate to the school;.
  2. Portion of the page of admission and withdrawal register where entry in date of birth has been made along with attested copy of the Certificate issued by the Municipal Authority, if available, as proof of Date of Birth submitted at the time of seeking admission; and.
  3. The School Leaving Certificate of the previous school submitted at the time of admission.
  4. The application for correction in date of birth forwarded by the Head of the School along with documents mentioned in bylaws 69.2 (iii) shall be entertained by Board within five years of the date of declaration of result. It will be applicable to all cases after class )(All 2015 Examination onwards.
